Tiana’s Family

I was born in Texas to my parents, Ron and DeAnne. They already had three of my siblings by then: Kerstin, Paul, and Jake, so I made four! I was born in Texas because my mom was stationed there as an Air Force nurse. By the time I was 3 years old, my sister, Erika, was born and we moved to California. We lived there for a while and another sister, Jessica, was born! This made 6 of us all together! When I was in 8th grade my parents started talking about moving to Utah. My dad had lots of family there and he was wanting to start an engineering business. So we moved! I started my 9th grade in St. George, Utah and I finished high school there. Jacob and I went to high school at the same school (Dixie High) while Erika and Jessica went to a different school (Tuacahn High).

With six kids to compete with, our home was usually pretty noisy! We all mostly got along (maybe check with my mom to verify this! My memory has been known to be less than accurate!) and we had our usual sibling spats and arguments. In general, our lives were very typical and average.

Now we are a little bit spread out, but we try to keep in touch using a fun video messaging app called Marco Polo. My dad and Paul are both living in California, about an hour apart from each other. My mom is still living in St. George, but she is planning to move to California to be with my dad (he took a job there and has been waiting for her to get things closed up in her job to move also). The rest of us live in Salt Lake City now. We live all over the valley and try to get together when we can. Erika is really great about setting up a weekly Sunday family dinner and always invites everyone to join her.

Paul and Jacob both have kids, my niece and nephew! Paul’s ex has stayed a part of our family and has remarried and had another daughter, who we also love (they live in Cedar City, Utah)! Jacob has a son, Gilbert, who splits his time with his mom and his dad (they live in Salt Lake City). The grandkids are spoiled by their grandparents and aunts and uncles!
